Six people hurt in EE

Six people were hurt in an accident involving a truck and a car at East End on Sunday.

The six suffered lacerations to their heads and bodies in the collision between a truck and a car on Sea View Drive, East End at 5:30pm.

Police say the driver of the truck apparently lost control of the vehicle on the wet road and it skidded and was in collision with an oncoming car.

The truck overturned and both vehicles were said to be a write off. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Department.

Sudden deaths

At 6:50pm on Monday the 911 Centre received a call that a male at Boatswain Bay, West Bay was unconscious and not breathing.

Police and paramedics responded and the 48-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:32pm.

Further investigations are taking place.

At 6:35am on Monday the 911 Centre received a call that and 86-year-old man had died during the night.

Police and paramedics attended the location off North West Point Road, West Bay.

The man has been named as Martin Anthony Ebanks of Invicta Drive, West Bay.

Disabled boat

Yesterday (Tuesday) the 911 Centre received a call from a male saying that a boat had broken down 10 yards out from the Hyatt canal.

The engine on the 32-foot sailboat had overheated and broken down.

Volunteers from Search and Rescue assisted the stranded boat owner and towed him back to shore at 2.59am.
