The private industry, hotels, restaurants and bars alike took it on themselves in the past to entertain tourists and residents for New Year’s Eve.
We arranged lavish dinners, live music and decorated our places with party favours and poppers. We arranged New Year’s parties to remember.
With the Government’s decision to close down early, I believe the DoT in conjunction with the Government should take on that responsibility to entertain the island.
I suggest they organise numerous, strategically placed fireworks – in Little Cayman, Cayman Brac and on three locations in Grand Cayman.
This shall encourage clients to leave all licensed establishments on time to go to the beach and watch the show.
It would be a true Caribbean experience and would not break any laws.
