Robberies mar season

Three robberies in the early hours of Tuesday morning marred what police described as an otherwise relatively peaceful and quiet Christmas.

At just before 1.15am, at least two men attacked and demanded money from a male behind Quiznos Sub, the Marquee, off West Road.

The victim handed over money and two credit cards.

There are no descriptions of the suspects but police are urging any witnesses to come forward.

Forty minutes later, police received a report of a robbery at the rear of the O’ Bar in Queens Court.

The victim said a knife was held to his throat while the suspect took a bracelet and necklace before making a getaway in a white pickup truck.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen earlier in the evening.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a GMC white Sierra, licence plate number 107 565 driving anywhere on the island before the incident to contact them.

Then, at 3.23am, a man reported that, while he was in the bathroom of the Next Level Nightclub, two men – one allegedly with a gun – turned off the lights and tried to rob him.

The men did not get any property from the victim although he did receive a small laceration to the eye during the incident.
