Accounting firm KPMG held a Partner Auction and raffle to help raise funds for Cayman High Schools, John Gray and George Hicks.
The event took place Friday, 18 November at Cricket Square and raised over $11,000. The amount will be split equally between the two schools and will be used to buy equipment and books.
The fundraiser featured a selection of 10 unique events, each supplied by a partner of the firm. Employees were then free to bid in teams, with minimum bids starting at $100.
Events ranged from a day horse riding on the beach with lunch, learning how to dance Caymanian style followed by an authentic dinner, a day of beach games to being personally flown over to Little Cayman.
Winning bids were announced, with partner Theo Bullmore’s challenge the boss to an evening of pool fetching the highest at $880.
In addition to the auction a number of prizes were raffled off, including goodie bags, extra days off work, spa treatments and laptops.
Marie Parker, marketing manager for KPMG, said: ‘We have seven values core to the firm, one being that we are committed to our communities, in particular youth and education.
‘The afternoon was a great success, and we will shortly be ordering equipment for the two schools.’
