Taste of Cayman Golf Classic

Golfers competing in the annual Taste of Cayman Golf Classic will tee off at the Britannia Golf Club on Monday, 5 November.

Organized by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, the four-man scramble with a shot-gun start and two tee-off times, promises to be a challenging yet entertaining day.

Players of mixed ability will compete to win several prizes including a car from GT Automotive for a hole-in-one.

Other prizes include a gold coin from Island Companies for the ‘closest to the pin,’ prizes for the longest drive by a female/male and hotel stays.

The most sought after spot prizes are two trips for four, sponsored by Cayman Airways and Spirit Airways, with accommodation by the Marriott at Doral and the Hyatt Regency at Coconut Point, FL.

Numerous other spot prizes, such as a two-night stay at the Southern Cross Club on Little Cayman, will be drawn at the close of the all-day event. There are also prizes for the three top scoring teams and a consolation prize for the worst scoring team.

According to the CITA release, players whose game is not quite up to par will also enjoy the day as there is a good chance for them to walk away with prizes.

Tee-off times are 8am and 1pm and the event is followed by a BBQ sponsored by Buck Head Beef and Cayman Imports.

The entry fee of CI$125 per person includes green fees and cart, chances to win the holes-in-one, complimentary drinks and the BBQ.

Proceeds of the tournament will benefit the Lighthouse School and the CITA.
