The final of the CIFA U23 FA Cup was an electrifying match played between Cayman Athletics SC and Future SC last Sunday November 05th, at the Annex. After ninety minutes of play, Cayman Athletics SC emerged victorious by beating Future SC three goals to nothing. The scorers were Donald Solomon Jr. and Tex Whitelocke.
Mr. Irvin Banks, General Secretary for Cayman Athletics SC, was exultant about the success of the team and said that, ‘The Executive Committee, club members and supporters are very pleased with our team, who put in a lot of hard work in practice games in the past several weeks. Everybody celebrated after the game with a fish fry at Jah-Tee’s’ establishment, near the Annex football grounds. We hope to share in many more such occasions. Congratulations to Future also who never gave up the game even when 3 – 0 down. The Cayman Islands should be proud of all its youngsters who participate in these demanding sporting events’.
The main Referee for the game was Winston Blackwood; 1st Assistant Referee was Nolan Foster; 2nd Assistant Referee was Dwayne Ebanks and the Match Commissioner was newly appointed Referee Alfred McLeod. All of whom received medals for their participation.
