New CIFA/CIRA referees awarded certificates

In a very emotive ceremony, the new CIFA/CIRA Referees were awarded their Certificates of Completion in regards to the Beginner’s Referees Course, which concluded on October 19th. Mr. Fred Speirs, a CIFA Referee Instructor/Assessor, who conducted the course with assistance from Mr. Livingston Bailey, newly appointed CIFA Referee Instructor, congratulated the five individuals that achieved this milestone.

Also making the presentation at the ceremony was Mr. Jeffrey Webb, CIFA’s President, who also praised the newly certified Referees and encouraged them to do their best. ‘CIFA will continue to develop initiatives that work towards the betterment of football in the Cayman Islands’, said Mr. Webb. ‘The fact that we are certifying new Referees is an important step in our quest to achieve world class standard for football and the Association is proud to lead this project’.

The newly certified Referees are: John Clark, Alfred McLeod, Sophia Foster (wife of Nolan Foster, also a Referee), Nicole Thompson and Andrew Green. All of them expressed their happiness and delight at being certified as Referees and promised to honor and comply with the Laws of the Game.
