Police are appealing for witnesses to two separate robberies on Saturday.
One occurred at around 4.20am at the Texaco gas station on Walkers Road. A man entered the shop through the front door carrying a knife and an iron pipe and demanded cash from the two male attendants. The offender grabbed a cash draw and made off into bushes behind the Eden Centre. One attendant received a cut to his throat during the incident and was treated at the hospital.
The offender is described as 5ft 8ins with a slim build and dark complexion. He was wearing a dark coloured cap, gray T-Shirt and long pants. His face was covered with a red bandanna.
At around 12am Saturday, a man reported that as he was cycling in Columbus Close (off Walkers Road) when a man carrying a knife approached him. The victim claims the man demanded he hand over everything he had and waved the knife at him. The victim ran leaving his bike behind, which was taken by the offender.
The offender is described as wearing dark blue jeans, a coloured shirt and coloured baseball cap. The bicycle is blue and silver with black rubber handles. The victim received no injuries during the robbery.
Police are considering the possibility that these incidents could be linked.
