The 16th Annual National Trust Easter Auction will be held at the Little Cayman Trust House adjacent to the Booby Pond Sanctuary.
This auction, the major fundraiser for the Little Cayman District, draws participation from all three islands.
The money raised will be set aside for purchase of land for a sanctuary for the Little Cayman Rock Iguana.
Bidding on the silent auction will begin Saturday afternoon at 4, with the live auction beginning at 7.30pm.
Peter Hillenbrand will be the auctioneer assisted by several of Little Cayman’s most charming ladies.
Competition in bidding for items in both the silent and live auctions can be keen, and one never knows which item will be the surprise big money raiser. In a previous year modestly priced ceramic gecko prompted a fierce round of bidding with a resulting winning bid that would have purchased an original work of art.
Items for auction, donated by individuals, Little Cayman visitors, and businesses from all three islands, include everything from home accessories to handmade jewellery to original artwork.
Most everyone who walks through the door finds something of interest, especially among the generous gift certificates from Cayman Island businesses.
A children’s table allows our young friends to enjoy bidding without competition from adults.
