Cayman Brac kids will welcome Nickelodeon’s lovable action hero, Diego, when he boards Cayman Airways for a special trip to the Sister Island on 5 September.
Children aged five to 11 can join Diego at the Brac Reef Beach Resort between 3:30pm and 5pm for an afternoon of cultural crafts, including making a Brac Parrot, weaving silver thatch palms, cooking demonstrations, and lessons on the marine life and heritage of Cayman Brac.
‘The Department of Tourism felt it was important to provide Brac visiting families with the opportunity to meet Diego and participate in Sea School,’ said Acting Director of Tourism Shomari Scott. ‘In the past, we have brought Nickelodeon’s cartoon character Sponge Bob to Sea School in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, and now we are happy to share Diego with our Brac families.’
Sea School is free of cost to parents and children and each participating child will also receive a custom colouring book and certificate honouring their participation as ‘Protectors of the Environment’.
For the past three months, Diego has been a favourite among Sea School participants in Grand Cayman, with activities occurring twice weekly at Boatswain’s Beach and Pedro St. James. Kids and parents alike have discovered Cayman’s culture and history through the craft projects and stories told at Sea School.
Parents are required to accompany their children to Sea School. For more information, visit http://www.caymanislands.ky/diego/seaschool.aspx. To register, contact the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism at 949-0623 or email c[email protected].
