LIME has come on board as the title sponsor for the third annual Motorcycle Toy Run this Sunday.
Kick-starting the season of giving, it is encouraging the community of Cayman to donate unwrapped toys for children.
Collecting donations along the way, participants will meet in the parking lot of Boatswain’s Beach, and between 10am to 1pm and ride through West Bay, along the length of Seven Mile Beach and through South Sound – continuing all the way to East End and looping around with a final stop at Kaibo. Anyone can join on the ride whether they travel by motorcycle, moped, or scooter – any two-wheeled vehicle is welcome. 96.5 Cayrock is encouraging the community to show some holiday spirit by donating a new, unwrapped toy for Cayman’s less fortunate youth, particularly girls and boys aged two to 13 years old. The toys collected will then be distributed by the Lion’s Club of Grand Cayman.
Commented 96.5 Cayrock’s Ben Maxwell, ‘This is our third year helping organize this event and it is one we hold close to our hearts as there is nothing more rewarding than bringing smiles to the faces of the kids of Cayman. There are a number of ways to participate – we encourage those interested to join us in the ride, or cheer along as we pass by your location. If you are unable to make it out on the actual day, we encourage everyone to join in a community effort to give back by donating a present for the kids.’
Donations are being collected at LIME stores in Anderson Square and Galleria Plaza, all Foster’s Food Fair locations, and Texaco Savannah and East End. In addition, for riders who do not wish to carry the gifts on their bikes, 96.5 Cayrock’s monster truck ‘Rockzilla’ will be at Boatswain’s Beach to collect donations. Rockzilla and the Cayrock team will follow the ride all the way to Kaibo. The Lion’s Club of Grand Cayman will be hosting a kids’ party on 21 December whereby they will be distributing the donated gifts to the less fortunate youth of Cayman.
‘It’s time once again to show our community spirit and ride for a great cause – ride for the kids of Cayman, and let’s make their Christmas as special as we possibly can. We are also so grateful to Lion’s Club for their assistance in distributing the toys collected – it takes a communal effort,’ commented Stuart Knox, a member of Paradise Riders Motorcycle Association.
LIME Events Manager Julie Hutton commented, ‘As part of LIME’s promise to make the Caribbean a better place, we are thrilled to be partnering with 96.5 Cayrock in this charitable event and we encourage everyone to do their part by making a contribution during the holiday season – the season of giving.’
Added dms Broadcasting’s Network Promotions and Marketing Manager Phil Vinciullo, ‘We are grateful for the support of all the sponsors and for the generosity of the local community as a whole – after all, it is for the children.’
