Arrest made in stabbing

One man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing which occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

At around 1.30am, the 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call from a woman reporting that a relative had sustained injuries which appeared to be stab wounds.

Police responded to the address on Greenwood Drive, George Town, and found that a 46-year-old man had been injured. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries for treatment.

An hour after the stabbing was reported a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The man remained in police custody at press time.
