A teenage Bodden Town girl who unexpectedly left her family’s home Sunday night around 6.30 came back Monday just before 6pm.
She was unharmed and had apparently just decided to run away without a knapsack, change of clothes, or even shoes.
Royal Cayman Islands Police became concerned for the girl’s welfare after she went missing for more than 12 hours and hadn’t contacted her family.
Police said the girl, 13, had never run away before and hadn’t caused much trouble at home according to her parents.
Around mid-afternoon Monday, the teen was sighted in North Sound Estates in Savannah, just west of her family’s home on Will T. Road. Police received information later in the afternoon that she was communicating on the internet and was believed to be in no real danger.
