Guard stabbed at Next Level club

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion wounding in the early hours of Saturday morning after a nightclub security guard was stabbed.

The 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call around 1.25am from a staff member of Next Level nightclub reporting that a man had been injured.

Police responded and found a security guard at the club had received wounds to his chest and hand. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and was expected to survive.

The suspect was arrested and a knife was recovered. He remained in police custody Saturday, and was also accused of assaulting police.
