A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 16-year-old female on Saturday, 4 July. Police were contacted by the mother of the victim shortly after she learnt of the incident from her daughter.
Officers continue to work with the young lady and her family and counseling has been offered. ‘Rape is a traumatic experience for both victims and their families and people who commit such crimes are warned that every effort will be made to bring them to justice,’ said Detective Sergeant Winsome Prendergast.
