Elite already have a trophy

Defending champions Elite SC meet Future SC in a feature game in the Cayman Islands Football Association Premier League competition this Sunday.

It’s the start of the new season and will be played at the TE McField Sports Centre in George Town, kick off 7pm.

Elite dominated the Premier League last season and were runaway champions and went on to win the Digicel Cup and were beaten finalists at the CIFA FA Cup finals.

Last Sunday at this same venue Elite outplayed Bodden Town to take the inaugural Charity Shield trophy and looked good on the field although showing fatigue in the latter part of the second half.

Elite will be looking to Rene Carter, Benjamin Cupid, Abijah Rivers, Hank Parchmant, Donavan Godet, Jairo Sanchez, Dave McLaughlin, Nicholas Ebanks and Joseph James to get the side off on a winning note.

Future SC on the other hand had an indifferent season last year but easily kept themselves in the top six teams in the Premier League. They have been training hard during the off season break and are one of the better organized clubs on the island.

The task will be in the hands of national representative Dion Brandon, Contreras Sergio, Mark Ebanks, Michael Johnson, Mario Dinall and Denver Barnes just to name a few who will be taking the game to Elite from the get go.

In the other games to be played on Sunday as well Tigers FC meet Roma FC in the opening game at 5pm.

Down in West Bay at the Ed Bush Stadium newcomers Bodden Town FC face George Town SC at 7:00pm and Sunset FC plays Scholars International at 5:00pm.
