New option for motor insurance

Car owners now have a new option for their motor insurance.

Island Heritage, the first company in the Caribbean to exclusively target the property insurance market, has announced it will now be offering motor insurance to car-owners in the Cayman Islands.

‘Island Heritage tends to do things deliberately,’ said Judith Harvey, the manager behind the new Island Heritage MotorCover product.

‘We always believe in offering particular products or services only when we’re certain we can do it better than anyone else.’

A press release states Island Heritage believes it will stand out for its highly-regarded service levels and the strength of its underlying insurance backing.

Having taken several major hurricane catastrophes in its stride over recent years, Island Heritage has been able to prove its capacity to respond to multiple claims across a wide geography.

‘I’ve had a great experience with Island Heritage over the years, both in terms of price and service,’ said customer Wade Ebanks.

‘So when I got the chance to get my car covered along with my house and contents, I went for it.’

Island Heritage offered Mr Ebanks the opportunity to be one of its first MotorCover policyholders when he was invited to join the product development pilot in the run-up to the MotorCover launch.

‘The pilot programme allowed us to iron out the wrinkles,’ says Judith Harvey, ‘Now we’re confident we can take it live to customers in the Cayman Islands and deliver it as smoothly as possible.’

Island Heritage MotorCover comes with No Claim Bonus Protection, Heritage InjuryCover and additional Security Discounts for cars that are fitted with specific anti-theft features.

The company selected Cayman as the first market for the regional roll-out for Heritage MotorCover.

‘Once we’ve reached our projected targets,’, ‘we’ll be offering MotorCover to customers in our other Caribbean territories,’ said Island Heritage CEO Garth MacDonald.

Island Heritage is opening a Customer Care Centre upstairs in The Strand, on West Bay Road.

‘Whereas in the past we’ve relied on our network of agents to deliver products and services, we’ve added the ability to meet the customer face-to-face,’ said Mr. MacDonald.

‘Now they can enjoy an even more customer-friendly Island Heritage.’
