Three local companies who
contributed funds toward a community outréach programme for kids were recently
recognized for their support.
National Housing Development Trust
Chairman Steve McLaughlin presented plaques to PricewaterhouseCoopers who gave
CI$2,200 and Maples and Calder and McAlpine who each contributed CI$1,000
toward gifts and a Christmas party for children from the NHDT Windsor Park,
West Bay and Eastern Avenue housing developments.
“I thank the businesses for their
generosity displayed a community effort that has made the children’s Christmas
more enjoyable which also made a real difference to families in the NHDT
communities,” said Mr. McLaughlin.
Responding on behalf of Maples and
Calder, Senior Marketing Manager Cherryl Hydes said the Maples Foundation’s
goal is to assist the youth of Cayman to achieve their full potential.
“We were happy to play our part in easing the
burden on parents and make the kids happy during the holidays,” she said.
McAlpine’s office manager Amaris
Coe was on hand to accept the NHDT award, while Elizabeth Austin accepted on
behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
