Elite must tame rampant Tigers

It’s the day of reckoning on Sunday
when last season’s beaten finalist Elite meet Tigers and George Town face
Latinos in the semi-finals of the 2010 Cayman Islands Football Association FA
Cup competition.

Games at the TE McField Sports
Complex in George Town will start at 5pm for the George Town-Latinos game and
7pm for the other one.

Latinos remain the only First
Division team to have upset the odds and placed themselves in the semis after
beating Premier League Sunset 1-0 in the quarter-finals.

Facing George Town will be a task
for the Spanish speaking team, however if George Town can interpret their game
plan well they might turn them back and go on to vie for their second title of
the season having already won the Digicel Cup.

Certainly, with the likes of Tex
Whitelocke, Fabian Malcolm, Justin Pierre, David Harding up front supported by
Garth Anderson and Mitchie Williams in midfield and Leighton Elliott, Encuma
Brown and Clay Coleman in the defense line up it should be smooth sailing for
George Town.

Despite the expectations of these
George Town players Latinos will battle all the way. David Arch who plays
striker for Latinos along with Alfredo Challenger, Cesar Fajardo, Jose Nunez,
Mitchell Grant and the rest of young players presently on the squad will
strengthen the Latinos team to give the Premier League team a keen contest.

So far Elite have not been in the
same brilliant form as last season.

Rene Carter, the Godet brothers
Donovan and Gabriel, the Ebanks brothers Jedd and Jason fuelled by the positive
energies of Darrin Ebanks, Dwayne Messam, Chris Welcome, Jairo Sanchez and Hank
Parchmant should be enough to deal with the attacks of Carlos Powery, Eric
Brown, Lende Carter, Jose Bush and Nolan Hydes.

This game will be very interesting
and entertaining. The Premier League games will continue next weekend details of
time and venues will be announced soon.
