Prison close down Police force

Prison captain Saheed Mohamed was
in an extremely aggressive mood against Police.

Mohamed’s explosive innings of 80
runs in 50 balls included eight fours and three sixes lead Prison to a
comprehensive victory.

 The match was the resumption of the league on
Sunday at the Smith Road Oval following the weekend off in support of the athletics
association hosting the CARIFTA Games.

Mohamed received excellent support
from Gerard Christian, Ladel Farquharson and veteran Steve Gordon. Prison opening
bowlers Menon and Sanichar shared five wickets and restricted Police to only
161 runs.

By Rite continued their quest for
championship honours by defeating Esso Tigers. Batting first By Rite scored 219
runs with Adrian Wright 38 runs leading the way. Captain Conroy Wright’s four
wickets ensured victory for By Rite by 18 runs.

In Division 2 a hat-trick by
specialist spinner David McGrath propelled Greenies Too to an easy victory over
Chillies. Other winners were Esso Cubs over Aims Consultants and Cayman Brac
over Oneness.

In the Women’s League an
outstanding spell from Paulette Robinson lead new team Motown to a nine wicket
victory against Panthers.

Batting first Panthers totalled 144
for 7. Wyvonne Forbes made 61 and received support from Carmen Singh 18 and
Karen McIntyre 17. 

Problems for Panthers came in the
fourth over as Robinson took three wickets. Motown batters Ann Warren 57 and
Robinson 38n.o showed excellent form in their victory march.
