Teen accused of trying to kill cops

A 16-year-old male appeared in Summary Court on Wednesday, charged with several crimes including the attempted murder of two police officers after the robbery of a Bodden Town gas station last week.

The boy, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor, was also charged with the robbery of Mostyn’s Esso station Friday night, stealing an amount of cash using force, possession of a unlicensed firearm – namely a Remmington 12-gauge shotgun – possession of two rounds of ammunition, and the unlawful discharge of a firearm at the two policemen on Northward Road.

The boy, represented by attorney John Furniss, appeared before Chief Magistrate Margaret Ramsey-Hale. He is expected to make an appearance in Youth Court on Friday.
