Royal Cayman Islands Police are investigating two major assaults and a robbery that occurred on Grand Cayman between late Friday and early Saturday.
The first incident, a robbery at Brown’s Esso on Dorcy Drive was reported just before 9pm Friday.
Police said an armed male suspect entered the business and held up the clerk. He made off on a bicycle with an unknown amount of cash. No one was injured.
There were also two separate assaults reported in the vicinity of Limestone Ironshore (LI) nightclub on Lawrence Boulevard within two hours of one another early Saturday.
According to RCIPS, the first assault happened just after 1am. A 19-year-old UCCI student suffered serious head injuries in the attack and was transported to hospital.
About an hour and a half later, around 2.30am Saturday, police said a 19-year-old man was found lying in the parking lot of Smiles in the vicinity of the Limestone Ironshore (LI) nightclub.
Detectives said it appeared the young man had been stabbed in the hip and also suffered head wounds. Police said he was also taken to hospital.
Police had initially reported just one attack in the vicinity of the club around 2.30am Saturday. However, a press release sent out late in the afternoon indicated there had been two attacks.
Police did not state whether any of the incidents were related.
