Yeah Baby! It’s showtime!

Saturday is a red-letter day for
parents and parent to be in Cayman, with the third annual Yeah Baby! Family
Expo, organised by dms Broadcasting, bringing the latest products and services
to the Arts and Recreation Centre at Camana Bay.

The free event will kick off at 9am
with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Christen Suckoo, deputy chief officer with
the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, with the show going strong
all day until 5pm.

There will be more than enough to keep
parents and kids busy all day. The X107.1 Activities Centre promises to be
especially popular with kids and parents alike, as it will allow the kids to
keep busy while their parents get a well deserved moment of peace and quiet.
The centre will feature a variety of activities including the Gerber Baby
Boogie Contest, photos with the National Trust’s blue iguana and even a bouncy
castle to help tame rampant energy levels.

There will be something for the
more sporty kids as well, with the Cayman Islands Girls’ Football Organisation
team players showing off their skills at the HOT 104.1 Sports Skills area.
There will also be giant version of popular games like Twister, Jenga and
Checkers – a new addition to the day and certain to be a hit with young and old.

When most of the energy has been
sapped, there is the 106.1 KISS FM Storytelling Centre where classic stories
will entertain kids of all ages.

All this fun has to be fuelled
somehow and fortunately there is the 96.5 CAYROCK Food Rocks area, where you
can taste and buy anything from donuts and pizzas to yoghurt and fruit juice.
There will be plenty of tables and chairs for weary parents to take the load
off and recover while the kids refuel for a second go at all the activities.

Of course, while the kids are busy
burning through their second wind, parents can enjoy the exhibitors, which will
include providers of baby goods, clothing for babies and moms-to-be and
activity and enrichment centres among others.

With book readings going on
throughout the day, events scheduled in addition to the all-day attractions
include: a showcase of ‘Baby BuggyFIT’- a great way to tone up while taking the
baby with you, a steel drum exhibition, a karate demonstration by Purple Dragon
and much more.

The Baby & Toddler supplement,
produced by Cayman Free Press, will also be distributed at the show, with
articles on all things baby and toddler related, from baby health topics and
tips for moms-to-be to advice for new fathers on how to find their place in
raising baby.

According to the organisers more
than 5,000 people attended last year’s show and with new and improved offerings
at the show as well as the excellent venue and lots of parking, Yeah Baby!
promises to be bigger and better than ever. There will also be goodie bags for
those who arrive early,

“I look forward to this event every
year-it is incredibly rewarding to be a part of delivering an event that
encourages family fun and bonding, and brings smiles to the faces of all the
little ones! It is also key that we have attractions for kids of all ages, as
well as the parents – this is all about ‘something for everyone’,” said Chloe
Hill of X107.1
