Little Cayman’s Heritage Festival
is known for its laid-back and happy vibe. This year it takes place on
Saturday, 6 November.
The event’s family-friendly
reputation means that visitors come from all over the world to enjoy festivities.
The Float Parade is one of the
highlights in which residents and visitors are welcome to participate for free.
This year, the theme will be Pirates of the 20th Century and prizes are given
for the most outstanding floats. There are also prizes in the children’s
division and for best dressed pirate, wench and child pirate.
The evening will feature a lot of
other wonderful activities, starting with the domino tournament, which also
features a large cash prise for the winners. Fireworks will light up the sky as
various prizes are given for best costume, best dance, Cayman-based trivia and
more in a truly memorable Saturday, 6 November.
Schedule
The float parade begins at 3pm at
Head O’ Bay. The first prize for the domino tournament, which takes place at
Hungry Iguana starting at 7.30pm, is $1,000, with a cash prize for second
place, while third place wins two sets of dinner for two at the Little Cayman
Beach Resort. The Hungry Iguana is also host to the dance featuring Stephen
King of Vibe FM, starting at 8pm with plenty of prizes and giveaways promised.
The fireworks commence at 9pm.
All day there will be various arts
and crafts demonstrations and plenty of kid-friendly activities, too. And don’t
forget that the most delectable local food is on sale from 3-9pm.
