Scholars International are finding their rhythm at last and the Premier League champions, after an indifferent start, have just put together three victories with no goals conceded.
Cesar Fajardo scored a wonderful goal from long range and Oshane ‘Foster’ Facey hit a clever shot from an acute angle to give Scholars International their latest win, against Tigers, on Sunday at the TE McField Sports Complex. Facey is really finding form at present and has started banging the goals in.
ELite are the quality side at present though, unbeaten in eight games and only dropping two points, in a draw, at the start of the campaign. Their twin strike force of Alex Belcher and Dwayne ‘Gaza’ Wright found the net again on Sunday in the 2-0 victory over East End.
At the G. Haig Bodden Sports Centre in Bodden Town, Roma United beat Future, also 2-0 with goals from Kemroy Graham and Craig Carridice. Tex Whitelocke hit a hat-trick for George Town in their 3-1 win over Bodden Town with Arvid Harris netting the consolation goal.
Scholars are in second position with 16 points behind Elite SC who have romped ahead with 22 points. Roma are third after leading the point standings at the start of the competition. They have 12 points and George Town have 11. Bodden Town’s form has been erratic. They have ten, East End are on eight, Tigers on seven and Future lie bottom of the table with five points.
The feature game this Sunday is George Town and Tigers at 7pm at the TE McField Annex. This game will be recorded for replay at the Aqua Beach Restaurant on West Bay Road.
Roma United face East End in the 5pm game. Bodden Town and Elite will do battle at the Ed Bush Stadium in West Bay at 5pm before Future meet Scholars International at 7pm.
