Report: Shot fired in East End

Royal Cayman Islands Police are investigating reports that a shot was fired in East End Thursday night, but they could not confirm what had actually occurred by mid-day Friday.

Around 9.30pm Thursday, police said they got a report that a man had been robbed in the East End area.

Police said the circumstances “as reported” were that the man was approached by a masked suspect on Fiddlers Way. The victim reported that the armed suspect fired a shot into the air before making off with a sum of cash and a bracelet.

No one was hurt in the incident. Police attended the scene and conducted a search for the suspect, but no arrests were made.

Since Thursday night police have spoken to the victim and other potential witnesses to establish exactly what took place, but have reported nothing further thus far.
