Accused bomb hoaxer in court

The attorney for a West Bay man accused in a ‘Jihad’ bomb hoax call told a magistrate Monday that the man doesn’t remember making the call.

Arnold Javisson Lee, 35, who is originally from Trinidad, is alleged to have called 911 on 14 March claiming to be a member of a Jihad. Police said he told call takers he had planted C-4 explosives in the Cayman Islands.

Police arrested Lee on suspicion of making a bomb hoax Wednesday last week.

Lee’s lawyer told the court Monday that he had no recollection of making the calls and denies that the voice on the 911 tapes is his.

He was given bail pending his next court appearance on 1 April.
