Attorney admitted to practice

Derek Norwood Jones was admitted to practice as an attorney in the Cayman Islands by Chief Justice Anthony Smellie QC on the application of law firm Higgs & Johnson.

Mr. Jones, who has joined Higgs & Johnson as regional managing partner, has been practicing law for more than 40 years, having served first as head of litigation, then managing partner and later senior partner of Jamaica law firm Myers, Fletcher & Gordon.

Mr. Jones will have responsibility for the management of the Cayman office of Higgs & Johnson and for managerial planning in the Caribbean region.

He also joins the Cayman litigation team, bringing experience in litigation and the telecom sector.
