A policeman has been caught on camera
dancing with revellers at Notting Hill carnival.
The mystery officer was filmed throwing
shapes in full uniform while a colleague waved his arms to the beat in the
background.
More than 128,000 people had viewed the
video posted on YouTube at the time of writing.
The footage shows the moves went down well
among others enjoying the festivities, including one woman in particular who
the officer has a brief dance with.
And the YouTube video has attracted almost
exclusively positive comments from viewers, with many praising the policeman’s
impact on community relations.
One viewer, Cocobee, said: “We should
give these two policemen a pay rise. They have probably done more for
good community relations than any of the very expensive initiatives that some
gravy train people get.”
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police
dispelled any suggestion the man was an imposter, saying: “We have no
doubt that it is one of our officers.”
