Detectives launched an investigation after receiving a report there appeared to be blood on the sidewalk near Ed’s Plaza on North Sound Way.
Forensic tests were carried out Wednesday, which included RCIPS crime scene techs checking the area with UV lights in the dark that evening. The tests have confirmed that the blood is human.
“It is possible that someone has been injured,” said RCIPS Superintendent Marlon Bodden. “If that is the case, we need to find that individual to make sure that he or she has received medical treatment.”
However, Mr. Bodden noted that police searches of the area and checks with medical practitioners had not turned up any reports of injuries.
Anyone who was in the area of Ed’s Plaza on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, and has any information which could assist officers as they try to establish what happened, is asked to contact George Town Criminal Investigation Department on 949-4222.
