Tropical islands were made for beach parties. What better way to celebrate the casual, easygoing island lifestyle than under the stars, with the sand between your toes? For several years now Calico Jack’s has been the venue for the beach party of the year on Seven Mile Beach on the last day of the year, and this year is no exception.
This year will be the seventh annual New Year’s Eve party at the ultimate Seven Mile Beach beach bar. The party has grown exponentially year on year and at least 1,500 people are expected to show up at Calico’s on Saturday evening to bid farewell to 2011 and welcome in 2012. The crowds spill out of the bar and onto Public Beach, with many bringing along their own midnight picnic goodies. It’s the epitome of beach-casual, with a fun, relaxed atmosphere, no dress code and no cover charge.
A stage will be set up on the beach and Calico Jack’s is delighted to be offering the same DJ line up as last year with NYC’s Brooklyn Earick headlining and the ever-popular island favourite Billy Corduroy of SpinFM.
Brooklyn Earick, after many visits since his debut here in October 2010 and a worldwide summer tour, has recently become a resident of Grand Cayman. He is currently working with local and international musicians and working on an EP for MadDecent Records as well as DJ-ing a few gigs on island to keep his rapidly expanding Grand Cayman fan base happy. Billy Corduroy is an integral part of EDM in Grand Cayman, and at Calico Jack’s in particular, with his extremely popular Jackpot Saturdays as well as this being his third New Year’s Eve appearance.
When the clock strikes midnight, Calico Jack’s and public beach will provide the perfect spot from which to watch fireworks being set off all the way along Seven Mile Beach.
The party this year is presented by Epic Day Entertainment and SPIN 94.9FM and sponsored by Absolut and Miller Lite so there will be drink specials on both all night long. Drinks will be served until 1.30am and music will continue until 2am, as per the NYE extensions.
