Thieves used a large rock to smash their way through a glass door into a George Town gas station early Friday morning.
The owner of the Texaco StarMart on Shedden Road, Craig Ebanks, said CCTV footage showed two men break into the store around 1.30am.
The gas station remained closed early Friday morning as a police forensic team examined the scene.
“We’re still assessing the damages and seeing what’s missing,” Mr. Ebanks said.
Staff showed up for work at 5.30am to find police at the gas station, which was cordoned off, and the door smashed.
