Female basketball players in Cayman will have to wait a little longer to storm the court.
The Cayman Islands Basketball Association has postponed the start of the national women’s league. Originally slated for this Sunday, the matches will instead launch on Thursday, 26 January.
Due to the fact that some teams are still getting organized, the start date has been postponed and the date pushed back. However fans should still brace for loads of excitement as the Home Gas Flames seek to defend their title against squads like the Dominos Lady Heels and the Lady Wolves.
At this stage, the national men’s league is still on schedule for a 4 February start. In that competition, all eyes should be on the Dominos Warriors, who captured their first championship last season by sweeping the Wolves in the finals.
Venues and times for league matches will be announced at a later date. For more information, e-mail [email protected]
