Cole starts the year on fire again

The Cayman Islands track season continues with the

West Bay District Meet on Saturday at the Town Hall Field.

It starts at 9am and events include long jump, shot put, javelin, ball throw, 80 metres, 150m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m.

At the development at the Truman Bodden Complex on Thursday, there were some notable performances. Chadwick Webster easily beat the opposition in the 1500m to win in 4 minutes 46.8 seconds, 33 seconds ahead of Jamie Montero. Webster had to settle for second in the 800m though, won by Kirk Williamson.

Tiffany Cole was brilliant again, winning the 800m girls 13-16 in an impressive 2 minutes 29 seconds. Tahj Lewis was 13 seconds faster than that in winning the boys 13-16 800m.

Brandon Johnson, featured in this paper this week, looked impressive again, winning the men’s 150m in 16.5 seconds, ahead of Stephon Johnson (16.8secs) and Dwayne Anglin-Folkes (16.9secs). Alexandra Terry easily won the discus in 41.23 metres, nearly twice as far as second placed Brittany Helvestor (21.25m)

There were also good performances from Amarie Bodden, Shayla Torres, Troy Long and Mikayla McLaughlin.
