Music selection for competition winner

Lorna Allen’s keen interest in music served her well in the recent Caymanian Compass Grammy’s Competition, sponsored by DMS Broadcasting.

The competition, which opened in January, asked entrants to predict which artists would win each of the 10 main Grammy categories. None of those who entered guessed entirely correctly, but Ms Allen was closest with eight of 10 correct.

Although she enters most of the competitions that are run by the Caymanian Compass, the Observer on Sunday and www.cayCompass.com, she said this is the first time she won anything.

She was presented with a selection of CDs from Grammy nominated artists, by Dan Charleston, market manager at dms Broadcasting.

“I love every single one of these artists,” she said. “One of these CDs I was about to order from Amazon, but now I don’t have to. I will really enjoy listening to all of them. Music is like a kind of therapy for me.”
