Cocaine bust at prison

A female visitor was found to be in possession of what was believed to a
cocaine at Her Majesty’s Prison Northward Sunday, according to the
Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

“A female civilian that was about to visit a prisoner was intercepted in
the prison gate lodge area by prison officers with what appeared to be
powder cocaine,” said Prison Director Dwight Scott. “The police were
summoned and the item was handed over. The female was taken in custody
by police.”

RCIPS said the woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a
controlled drug. She was later released on bail following an interview.
