Firearm missing on Brac

Royal Cayman Islands Police are investigating the disappearance of a firearm on Cayman Brac Monday night.

According to police, a Brac resident was checking his firearms safe and noted that one of the weapons stored inside was missing.

Police are looking into the incident and trying to determine the whereabouts of the gun.

Cayman Islands Firearms Law allows individuals to keep weapons if they have the appropriate licence and those firearms and ammunition are kept secured.

Within the past five years, RCIPS has investigated eight incidents of weapons or ammunition being stolen from safes.
