Rough sea rescue

Marine Police and the Air Support Unit responded late Sunday afternoon to two divers in distress in the water off Sunset House.

The divers, a man and a woman, were struggling on the surface of the water in high waves around 5.15pm Sunday.

After the police helicopter located the pair, the Royal Cayman Islands Marine Unit launched two Wave Runners from the Lobster Pot and picked up the divers.

They took them to South Sound where they were met by ambulance personnel and were found to be in good health and needed no further assistance.

Police reminded people to act responsibly when engaging in recreational activities, especially when there are signs or warnings of inclement weather.
