Road needs attention

Regrettably I write this short article to share my concern to other motorists who may share the near fatal accident experience I have witnessed immediately after exiting the junction of Melmac Avenue and onto South Church Street.

As a road user, this is one avenue I seldom travel because of its dangerous obstacles while exiting the west end side of that road on to the busy South Church Street.

Because of the narrow roadway on South Church Street at that particular area, I strongly suggest that the west end of that avenue be closed to vehicle traffic exiting, as I find it very difficult to make a left exit turn on to South Church Street without making full contact with the white centre line that divides both lanes. Even to make matters worse upon exit is the limited visual contact of oncoming vehicles at the left side of the junction due to the blind corner that’s less than 100 feet from its exit, the private dwelling house property wall fencing that is immediately on the left side corner of the junction and heading south and the upward drive swing to left or right exit.

All of the above road hazards I find very dangerous, especially while driving an SUV or larger vehicle exiting and with oncoming heading north bound. Again, perhaps the Roads Authority can look into this difficult roadway and make the necessary road changes.
