Guilty verdict in East End murder case

Chakane Jameiele Scott was found guilty of murdering Asher McGaw in East End on the night of 21 September 2011.

Asher, 21, was found around 3am in the vicinity of John McLean Drive by police officer on patrol. He had been shot three times, including once to the head.

The defendant, known as CJ, chose trial by judge alone. Justice Alexander Henderson announced his verdict today after hearing evidence and addresses between 28 May and 5 June.

The only sentence for murder in Cayman is imprisonment for life.
