Trial set for attempted murder

Garry Hurlston enters not guilty pleas

Trial has been set for April 2013 for Garry William Hurlston, who entered pleas of not guilty in Grand Court on Friday in
Grand Cayman.

Hurlston, 40, is charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent. Both charges arise from an incident that occurred on 21 June in Windsor Park in George Town, during which Wesley Clarke, 34, was stabbed.

The first charge alleges that Hurlston unlawfully attempted to cause the death of Mr. Clarke, while the second alleges that he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Mr. Clarke with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

He is represented by attorney Lucy Organ.

Justice Carol Beswick set the trial to commence on Monday, 15 April.
