The Cayman Prep Under-11s shook off the after-effects of their loss to Sir John A. Cumber Primary in the Opening Rally last weekend by downing a young South Sound Schools team 9-0 on Saturday,at the TE McField Annex Field.
Four goals from Aaron Jarvis, a brace from Christopher Alberga and a goal each from David Pitcairn, Harrison Hew and Jude Reynolds sealed the regular season victory for the Prep team in their opening Group B Under 11 encounter.
The younger, smaller and less experienced players from South Sound Schools put up a brave effort and never gave in for the full 60 minutes. Their defence and goalkeeper found themselves under constant pressure but were resilient in their efforts.
In the earlier Under 9 game, Cayman Prep drew 2-2 with South Sound Schools with Igor Magalhaes scoring two for Prep and Aiden Hew netting twice for South Sound Schools. Other opening day results from Group B were Red Bay Primary 2 v Northeast Schools 2 (Under 9); Red Bay Primary 2 v NorthEast Schools 0 (Under 11); Prospect Primary 0 v Bodden Town Primary 0 (Under 9); Prospect Primary 2 v Bodden Town Primary 2 (Under 11).
In Group A it was Cayman International School 1 v Sir John A. Cumber Primary 2 (Under 9); Cayman International School 0 v Sir John A. Cumber Primary 2 (Under 11); Savannah Primary 1 v St. Ignatius Prep 1 (Under 9); Savannah Primary 3 v St. Ignatius Prep 3 (Under 11); and Grace Academy 5 v Truth For Youth 0 (Under 11).
The Primary Football League regular season takes a break this coming Saturday due to the mid-term break. Regular season games commence on 3 November.
