After a relatively quiet first weekend of Premier League football matches, the second week really came alight with plenty of goals, the most surprising being Bodden Town’s 7-2 thrashing of George Town.
George Town are not usually that easy to beat and considering how many new players they added to their squad in the summer, the only conclusion is that the blend is not quite right yet.
Dwayne ‘Gaza’ Wright, top scorer in the past two seasons, hit a hat-trick for his new side Bodden Town with other goals from Yefry Calderon, Theron Wood, Alex Belcher and Thomas Bush. Kevin Moore and Tex Whitelocke hit George Town’s goals at the Bodden Town field.
At the earlier match at the same venue league champions Scholars International won 1-0 thanks to a striker by Lennox ‘Lenky’ Bryan in the 68th minute.
There were plenty of goals at the TE McField Annex too. In the first game Elite ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against Tigers. Hank Parchment, Cesar Dixon, Glen Cholette and Jairo Sanchez bagged Elite’s goals. Jamiel White hit the Tigers strike.
Academy wrapped up victory in the first half against Cayman Athletic with goals from Marc Brown in the 16th minute and two from Ricoh Brown in the 28th and 40th for their 3-0 win.
Biggest match this weekend is the clash between Bodden Town and Elite at the North Side field, kick off 5pm. The later match there is between North Side and Tigers.
At the TE McField Annex, the early game is between Cayman Athletic and Scholars and then Academy play George Town at 7pm.
