The Sister Islands Tourism Association will be holding the 15th annual Little Cayman Sister Islands Cook-Off on Saturday, 10 November.
Every year, say organisers, this fun event gets a little bigger and a lot more fun. Weekender has been over and it’s really ace and definitely well worth it.
This year, the five food categories will include: Local (nonprofessional), entrée, soup/salad, appetiser and dessert.
First and second prize winners in each category will receive a first and second prize Cayman National Nambe Trophy. As well, first prize will receive $100 cash and second prize will receive $50. The highest overall score in all categories will receive the coveted SICO Cayman National Nambe Grand Champion Trophy and $200 cash.
The association says it is “proud to host a lineup of distinguished group of professional judges again this year”.
The resorts on the island can sponsor whoever they wish to enter the competition or individuals can enter without sponsorship. The cook-off will be accompanied by a raffle for airplane tickets, dinners, scuba gear, fishing equipment and other valuable items. An egg toss competition will also bring lucky winners cash prizes. Lucky eggs, we say, too.
A special addition to the Little Cayman Sister Islands Cook-Off 2012 is live music by local recording artists Hi Tide, last seen in space (kinda).
