Super C vibe makes Future sing

Future Sports Club’s technical director Roy ‘Huta’ Ebanks is grateful to the team’s midfielder Cachas Stewart, aka celebrity DJ Super C, for helping boost club funds.
Super C is holding a 25th anniversary concert to mark his time in music and has lined up the great reggae crooner John Holt for a concert.

Holt and General Trees will perform at Mango Tree on Friday 30 November and it promises to be a memorable night of old-school foundation reggae. “Holt is one of my favourite singers who I know personally and has provided dublates and specials that I have used in sound clashes over the years,” Stewart said. “As I appreciate and enjoy playing vintage reggae music it was fitting to have John Holt as the main act for my 25 years celebration.

“Providing good weather and supportive fans, I am expecting a great show with a good turn out. Winning the 2007 Heineken Green Synergy and as result starting the Rockers Island show on HOT104.1 fm with dms Broadcasting has been one of my highlights.

“I have been competing in and winning competitions and sound clashes from the 1990s however, Hurricane Ivan destroyed the numerous trophies received during that time.

“I have great memories of the early days juggling music in nightclubs, sessions, house parties and after-parties.”

His list of competition wins is impressive, including the Top A Top Cayman Champion Sound (2002), Judgement Day Soundclash (2003) and One Champion Sound (2009). Stewart, 39, is the owner and manager of Super C Fire Corner formerly known as Super C Ital Spot located on Watercourse Road in West Bay which he has run for nine years.

Stewart said: “I’m glad the proceeds of the event will go to Future Sports Club. I have been a member for over five years.

“I have been playing football pretty much all my life from primary school. I’ve played with the Under-12 national team up to senior in the early 1990s.

“My first trip to the US was to play football on the U-12 team, seems like just yesterday. And I also attended a number of football workshops overseas. Over the years I’ve played with a number of clubs during numerous leagues such as Sunset, Scholars, West Bay United, Western Union as well as Future.

He added: “ I hope to continue being a prosperous business man and to continue enjoying and providing entertainment to all my fans and enjoy life to the fullest.”
