Camana Bay Christmas Give Focus on Cayman’s Humane Society

Paws for Christmas and spare a thought for the many companion animals that, without the support and care of the Cayman Islands Humane Society, would be left forgotten.

One hundred and seventy-four dogs and cats call the Humane Society shelter in George Town home. All of them need care and attention, and all of them need a home. During the busy holiday period, shelter resources are strained and costs increase as the shelter and its volunteers endeavour to ensure that all residents are given the care they need during the holidays.

On Thursday, 29 November, show your support at the Shelter’s Annual Fundraising Fashion Show at Camana Bay. Embrace the Winter Wonderland theme and dress in white to support shelter animals in need of some Christmas cheer. Enjoy live music and a fashion show featuring fabulous holiday collections from NKY and NKY Collection and watch as “Shelter Stars” take to the catwalk in hopes of finding a forever home.

Ticket options range from A Fashionable Seat $25 to Dinner and Fashion Show VIP packages $100. Fifty per cent of all ticket sales will be donated to the Cayman Islands Humane Society to support the shelter’s spay and neuter programme and community outreach activities. Tickets are available from NKY, Abacus and The Discovery Centre in Camana Bay, George Carvalho Salon, Must Love Dogs and the Humane Society.

Then on Saturday, 15 December, join the Humane Society for a special Christmas-themed road show, where visitors can meet and greet the shelter’s adorable and friendly residents. There will be information available on volunteering, fostering, adopting and the “Who’s Ready for a Sleepover” programme – or simply make a donation of monetary value or food, flea treatment, blankets and other items from the shelter’s wish list – and support the Humane Society in its efforts to find loving homes for all its residents, just in time for the holidays.

The Cayman Islands Humane Society provides shelter, care and attention to all unwanted companion animals in the Cayman Islands and actively seeks out responsible and loving homes for them, as well as assisting the community in all aspects of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership through adoption road shows, dog walking and special events.

Help the Humane Society continue its life saving animal welfare work in the Cayman Islands. Your support will go directly toward giving shelter animals the best care possible before they find a permanent home.
