The Department of Immigration wishes to advise clients of holiday hours for its public counters, as well as the dates for this year’s final board meetings.
The public counters close at 11am on Christmas Eve, Monday, 24 December, and resume operations at 8.30am on Thursday, 27 December. On New Year’s Eve, 31 December, the doors will again close at 11am, and reopen at 8.30am on Wednesday, 2 January.
During these times, the processing of work permits and the issuance of temporary permits will continue as normal. To avoid delays, the Department urges clients to ensure that applications are submitted in a timely fashion and are completed in accordance with the provided checklist.
While there are no submission deadlines for the respective Immigration Boards, their final 2012 meeting dates are as follows:
Work Permit Board: 12 December – Resumes on 4 January.
Business Staffing Board: 12 December – Resumes on 9 January.
Cayman Status and Permanent Residents Board: 13 December – Resumes on 10 January.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season, Chief Immigration Officer Linda Evans also expressed her sincere thanks to clients, colleagues and staff for their support and cooperation throughout the year.
“2012 has been very productive for us,” Ms Evans said. “We look forward to even greater things in 2013.”
