Royal Cayman Islands Police officers are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that occurred overnight on West Bay Road.
According to a statement from police: “A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by a female driver. The pedestrian has been taken to hospital for serious head injuries.”
The wreck happened on the road just outside the Lone Star Bar and Grill. A small section of West Bay Road was closed off Saturday morning to allow police to take measurements and investigate the crash.
Officers did not give a specific time for when the crash happened or if the woman driving the vehicle was hurt or arrested. It was believed the wreck happened before midnight on Friday.
