Snorkeller identified as US tourist

A man who died last week during a snorkelling trip off Seven Mile Beach has been identified as an American on vacation in Grand Cayman.

Keith Larson, 55, of Worthington, Minnesota, was identified in the United States media as the man who died.

Local police said the 55-year-old man got into trouble snorkelling off Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman and had to be rescued and assisted back to shore by beach visitors around 1.30pm Friday.

Mr. Larson was administered CPR by paramedics who arrived on the scene.

He was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town, where he was pronounced dead.
