More cocaine washes ashore in Brac

Another week, another package of cocaine washes ashore in Cayman Brac.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service confirmed Tuesday that a number of wrapped packages, suspected to be cocaine, washed up on Cayman Brac Monday evening. The packages were reported to police around 6.45pm Monday.

It was reported that 25 packages had been found washed up on the iron shore in Southside, Cayman Brac. The finder alerted customs officers who, in turn, contacted the RCIPS. The packages all measure approximately 8”x 6”x2” and have a combined weight of around 60lbs.

The packages have been retained by the RCIPS and will undergo forensic testing.

Police seized more than 60lbs. of cocaine in the Brac on 20 April as well.

That seizure also involved 25 packages containing 61 pounds of white powder resembling cocaine. Those drugs were also found on a beach on the south side of the Island.
